Our History

We are a multigenerational, family-owned business who specialize in homes and additions, custom tailored to your dreams and needs.

In 1971, Marlin Shank began a building business in the Chambersburg area along with his sons. Together they set out constructing new homes that fit the needs of the local community.

In 1980, Dale Shank bought the business from his father and named the company “Dale L Shank Builder”. For many years he did business in the Chambersburg area constructing new homes, additions and home renovations. Dale also began teaching his own sons the building trade, preparing them to carry on the business.

Now three generations and 50 years later, Dale’s oldest son Vernon has stepped forward to continue our legacy of true craftsmanship. Times may have changed, however our values have not. Whether we build a new home or home renovation, we pledge to carry on our long-standing tradition of exceeding our customer’s expectations.
